This past Friday, November 29, 2018, GRULAC held a luncheon to mark the presentation of our Consul General Janet Blandino by Ms. Belinda Beauchamp, Vice Consul of the Dominican Republic in California and Dean of GRULAC in Los Angeles, CA.
The Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC: Grupo de País de América Latina y el Caribe) is a United Nations Regional Group comprising all independent countries of Latin America and the Caribbean (171 of all UN members). It is one of the five UN regional groups, the others being the African Group, the Asia-Pacific Group, the Eastern European Group, and the Western European and Others Group (WEOG). It is a non-binding dialogue group that discusses issues related to regional and international affairs and aims to reach consensus. The President of GRULAC is elected for a two-year term. Since April 2016, the President has been Ramón Custodio of Honduras.
