Following San Pedro de Macorís, we arrive in the province of La Romana, where we visit Altos de Chavón, a recreation of a Mediterranean-style European village located atop the Chavón River. It's the city's most popular attraction and houses a cultural center, an archaeological museum, and an amphitheater modeled after a Greek amphitheater. This impressive open-air facility hosts concerts and performances by top Dominican and international artists year-round.
