The Tourist Card is a tax charged by the Dominican Republic to those visiting our country. It can be obtained directly at the airport upon arrival in the Dominican Republic. Some tour operators include the Tourist Card in their tourist packages.

GENERAL NOTES
- Nationals of countries that can legally enter the European Union, the United States of America, Canada, and Great Britain can enter the Dominican Republic with the presentation of the Tourist Card (Decree 691-07 dated December 18, 2007).
- All foreigners entering the Dominican Republic, whether with a visa or a tourist card, must have a valid passport, with a minimum validity and maintain its validity during their stay and departure from Dominican territory.
- All foreigners wishing to enter the Dominican Republic for business purposes must apply for a Business Visa, single or multiple, at the Dominican Republic consulates abroad, notwithstanding being included in the list of countries that can enter with a tourist card, as the latter can only be used for tourism purposes. Business visas will be granted by Dominican consulates according to the provisions contained in Resolution No. 01-08, dated February 7, 2008, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX).n
- Visa applications will be received and authorized exclusively by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the current mechanisms, restrictions, and procedures established by the Deputy Minister for Consular and Migratory Affairs.
- If a person needs a visa and there is no Dominican Consulate in the country where they are located, they must go to the consulate of the nearest country.
- If a person wishes to extend their stay while in the Dominican Republic, they can go to the offices of the General Directorate of Migration and apply for an extension, applicable once.
